A Woman Named Stanley

Saturday, Mar. 15, 2008 - 1:20 a.m.

First, here's Friday Five:

What do you see when you are looking out of the window closest to you?

Some greenery up the hill, along with a couple of white trash backyards. And rain. But you've all see the view.

Who was the last person coming into your room?

John.

What is the most predominant colour around you?

Hunter Green.

What is right behind you?

An original Don Maitz painting.

What is on today's calendar sheet?

Is this a trick question? -- A big number fifteen.

Link is to the left, yadda yadda...

---

Friday was nice, but wow, the weather was Idaho weather. It changed about every fifteen minutes during the time I was awake.

And all of the weather was coming from the west heading east, too.

I messaged John at 2:30 pm.

It's raining here!

He messaged back.

Nope, not here yet!

But eight minutes later...

It's raining here now!

And so forth. It's still kind of yechhy outside as I write.

---

I found a really nifty article about Barack Obama's mother.

She was an anthropologist who disliked ethnic barriers, and aided the world's poor.

The reason you never see her around these days is because she died of cancer just like my own mother did.

And -- because her father wanted a son -- her first name was Stanley.

Here are the two of them together.

---

The weather says it's going to rain all day today, but that it should clear up by Sunday.

Fingers crossed!

That's it. Have a nice Saturday.
