John, Dave & Dan Thursday, Apr. 24, 2008 - 12:16 a.m. John took Wednesday off, so we mostly had a pleasant day at home. He went to the chiropractor and got cracked and squashed, which he loves. While he was at the chiro, UPS delivered a parcel yesterday that completely blew me away. Old Buddy Dave sent me a Vermont Teddy Bear for my birthday. Wow. This stuffed animal is fully jointed, sturdily made, and has a lifetime repair guarantee. Even the box is wonderful And it's cute too. Thank you very much, Old Buddy!!! --- I'm reading where AFTER Hillary Clinton secured her victory in Pennsylvania, she chided Barack Obama for not being able to 'bring it home' by carrying the big states. Obama still leads in delegates and popular votes, though. If there's anything I hate worse than a sore loser, it's a sore winner. What a CUNT. --- I was watching War Games on AMC -- or rather, the chunks those scissor wielding sumbitches left untouched -- and thinking about nuclear war and how the threat of it had affected my thinking as well as that of my parents. I lived in Yuba City, California, which is about an hour north of Sacramento, and about a half hour west of Beale Air Force Base. When I was a child, there were still certain mentalities about the Cold War, and my parents had always been concerned that a nuclear war could take place. Their plan, should that happen, would be to place the entire family, including our dog and any other pets we might have at the time, into the family car and drive east, so we could get as close to Beale AFB as we could. No, not for shelter -- they were going to do this to insure that none of us would survive. --- I heard from Dan Weissman yesterday evening, who I haven't seen in person since my mom's memorial service in 1995. Oh this coming fourth of July, I'll have been friends with that man for thirty years. I know we've grown old together, but I'm not entirely sure that either of us actually grew up. Heh. --- Here's what I was doing three years ago right about now. See if you can guess what hasn't happened yet! --- All right, that's it. Have a good Thursday! ---
