Friday Five and Birthdays

Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 - 1:25 a.m.

This week's Friday Five: (Questions are boldface, my answers appear beneath.)

When was the last time you...

...went to the doctor?

A: The answer to this question is not for public consumption. Sorry.

...went to the dentist?

A: Root canal a while ago.

...filled your gas tank?

A: I don't own a car, so I don't fill a gas tank. The car belongs to my husband, so that's who does it.

...got enough sleep?

A: A full night's sleep is still occasionally elusive, but I had a -spectacular- nap this last Tuesday afternoon.

...backed up your computer?

A: This computer is so new I haven't done it yet.

Okay. Now, if you wanna play Friday Five, go here.

The cashew chicken mentioned yesterday turned out to be stunning. I coated the chicken breasts in a beaten egg and a little water, and rolled them in a plate of cashews that had received a very small amount of Splenda and an even smaller amout of cinnamon sprinkling... and placed the breasts in a 9 x 13 pan, preheated with half a stick of margarine melted in it, and baked em for 20 minutes at 400 degrees farenheit, turning them over at the ten minute mark. Mmmm.

The rest of the days menu was pretty much the same as before. Egg for breakfast, big salad for lunch along with some meats and cheese, Jello for a snack, and pork rinds for crunchies. And here's the news: I've lost nine pounds in five days.

Good heavens.

Guess who is replacing Edd Hall as the Tonight Show announcer after twelve years?

You're gonna -love- this -- 'Stuttering' John Melendez.

For those who don't know, he is the formerly stuttering sidekick on the Howard Stern show.

At least the Tonight Show people HOPE he is.:)

Finally, in the If I Dood It, I Get A Whippin Department, a public apology and a thank you to Dave Marron for being such a good sport yesterday morning over our virtual breakfast, when he read the Born On This Day section of his newspaper to me so I could guess ages -- and heard me answer them almost all correctly. I am usually terrible at guessing ages, so I had looked a bunch of people up the previous night in the Internet Movie Database. I shouldn't oughta done that. "Yes! Right AGAIN!... wait a minute, you LOOKED these UP already, DIDN'T you???..."

---

Okay, folks. That's it. Have a nice weekend.
