Pic & New Tat Idea

Friday, Aug. 06, 2010 - 12:32 a.m.

Here's another pic:

Have I made it clear yet how much I'm enjoying my haircut?...

---

Here's a report about a scrapped movie project from 1999 that is terribly out of date.

---

All right. Over on Facebook, a momentous decision was announced.

I have decided what my next tattoo is going to be.

But this is a little squirelly, even for me, because I don't have the slightest idea what the artwork is going to look like.

I want to get the Japanese characters that represent that 'SuWatch!' sound that Ultraman Hayata makes when he's about to kick some ass. The difficulty of course is getting custom artwork of the characters done to my satisfaction. I know this will be something I can't do until tax refund time, so I'm okay with waiting until then to see what I can find -- but it just kind of came to me.

If I hadn't watched Astroboy, I never would have watched Kimba.

And if I had not watched Kimba, I never would have seen Ultraman. They were on during the same weekday afternoon of programming.

Ultraman was escapist and fun and everything my life was not when I was younger. I myself have gone through transformative things in order to prolong my life, so this is most cerrtainly a concept I can relate to.

And if I had NOT been interested in tokusatu, or anime, or manga -- I never would have worked on AnimeCon and figured out that if John McLaughlin didn't kill me while that work was underway, chances are he wasn't gonna, so I should marry the guy.

Which is what ended up happening.

So, how could I avoid getting this tattoo? I can't explain it. I have to do it.

One of these days, I will.
